Dr Queenie Luu

Rheumatologist - BJC Health

Professional Bio

Queenie is a specialist Rheumatology physician who has expertise in diagnosing and treating arthritis, musculoskeletal conditions and autoimmune diseases. She has a special interest in inflammatory arthritis, crystal arthropathy, osteoporosis, connective tissue diseases, and inflammatory myositis. Queenie aims to provide evidence-based care that improves patient experience and outcomes in an ethnically diverse population. Queenie speaks five different languages. She is also a Staff Specialist at Canterbury Hospital, and launched the Osteoporosis Re-Fracture Prevention Service. She is involved in clinical research, quality assurance, patient safety, and medical education for doctors in training. Prior to this, she worked in the Connective Tissue Disease Clinic at Liverpool Hospital. She was a Clinical Associate Lecturer affiliated with the University of Sydney and Conjoint Lecturer for the University of New South Wales. Queenie studied medicine at the University of New South Wales and graduated with first class honours. At the same time, she completed an Honours Research Project in Physiology and Pharmacology. She has also completed a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Sydney. Queenie has presented her research work at various State, National, and International meetings. She has also published in various peer reviewed journals. In addition to her work, Queenie is trying to lead an active healthy lifestyle and continue her adventures as a global trotter.
